Emily Nixon creates sculptural fine jewelry, shaped by the sea. Her palette of natural sapphires and diamonds, tangled into seaweed settings, adds to the distinctive coastal language defining her work.
Using soft beeswax, Emily models with her hands, carving and manipulating miniature impressions of the world below the water. Careful to retain deliberate scuffs and irregularities, it is the dichotomy of the precious and the organic - special stones encircled by sea-worn gold - that characterizes so much of her inspiration. At the heart of Emily Nixon's jewelry remains the sculpture and tapestry of her early fine art practice.
Collections are sold in boutiques across the UK and US; each design is hand crafted in Emily's studio on the far west coast of Cornwall (UK) with a commitment to create responsibly, using the lost wax process to cast in only 100% recycled precious metals.
